Mineral Makeup Review - Micron Micronized Minerals What Are They?
Mineral makeup forums, mineral makeup brand company websites, mineral makeup blogs, and review sites may contain information regarding microns in products.
The term microns referenced on such sites to stipulate micronized mineral makeup ingredient particle sizes. Though the terms are fairly identical if you read your chemistry or geology books in high school, or college. To field experts the information on the internet can be misleading and largely incorrect as we’re sure you’ve discovered.
Ice Elements site has reader input with information on what mica is, substrate size, and how the mica and bismuth particles are formed by crushers (rock crushing machines for those of you that do not have a rock or mining degree or background) is a good read for some factual information on Micron and Micronized particles in mineral makeup or any makeup cosmetic product.
We spoke with over 35 mineral makeup customer service representatives and mineral makeup company owners. Specifically asking what micronized minerals meant and if they were in their makeup products. We also sought answers to what sort of background they had to answer our questions.
Our mineral makeup review of other company personnel and owners was inconsistent and unworthy of what the consumer deserves. Each and every company but 2 had a different idea of what microns are. The two companies which represented themselves professionally had great information themselves with complete knowledge on cosmetic ingredient powder substrate micron sizing, and offered us a complete INCI per micronized particle size. We also discovered that less than a handful of the companies we spoke with factually manufactured their own mineral makeup, though claimed to be private label makeup.
The mineral makeup industry has an immense problem with information being factual, not just on micron (micronized, crushed), substrate sizes, but also why their company is using certain sizes of particular ingredients and what those mineral makeup ingredients. We are generally referring to all these mineral so called private label makeup companies popping up right and left, not bare Minerals, Sheer Cover, Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics, L’Oreal Minerals, or any other mainstream department, drugstore, or well established makeup brand).
With the above in mind, please make sure you read facts, not fiction on some of these mineral makeup forums and blogs, and yes we are a blog of sorts too, we just realize there is just too much false information on mineral makeup. Remember pure mineral makeup should be just that, free of chemicals, talc, fillers, preservatives, FD& C Lake Blends, etc.
Minerals Makeup Hubpage will be providing information on what pure minerals are and what might be and perhaps what should not be manufactured in mineral makeup products your purchasing or plan to purchase.
Our concern is healthy skin for you as you age and in order to do that we appreciate your patience and for checking back with us. It does take longer than a day or two to find sources, articles, and persons with facts on subjects as those of you research fact junkies know. As a casual reminder you all do know that anyone can put anything for answers on Wikipedia and it’s NOT a good source for any facts unless a company like Microsoft has directed you there.
Mineral Makeup Review
Just when you thought you had an idea of what mineral makeup was, the cosmetic industry comes along and puts unnatural ingredients in mineral makeup brands.
So what is mineral makeup you're wondering and is there a makeup or cosmetic industry standard?
In order for a makeup or cosmetic product to be considered natural, or mineral, then it should be at least 97% natural, non synthetic ingredients.
We know there is alot of mineral makeup industry confusion as to what should be in products like mineral foundation, eye shadow, or blush. The concept of minerals in makeup is to help skin become more healthy with ongoing application makeup use. Thus illiminating chemicals, and other known natural ingredients that may cause breakouts. This includes the non-usage of talc, bismuth, biron, and other known skin allergens.
Read the back or onsite mineral makeup ingredient labels before purchasing any mineral makeup products to help promote healthy skin.

Loreal Mineral Makeup Foundation Review
Loreal Mineral Makeup Foundation Review. Loreal has always been a leader in cosmetics and upon the mineral makeup boom they too joined carrying their line of mineral makeup known as Bare Naturale Minerals,
Reviewing the Loreal Mineral Makeup Brand, we found they carried mineral foundation, eye shadow, eye liner, blush, a setting powder veil, and according to their website will be adding other mineral makeup items as well.
Recently we had the opportunity to test the Loreal Bare Naturale foundation and findings were mixed.
First the Loreal Foundation Ingredient listing included boron nitride, and bismuth oxychloride (a salt), both known cystic acne causing ingredient, as well as several chemical ingredients.
Several natural oils and waxes were found, along with aloe, which is usually used in cosmetics to calm inflammatory and itching reactions to the allergen ingredients such as boron nitride, bismuth, and others ingredients in this product.
Our review on Loreal mineral foundation coverage showed all testers in our results that the ingredients that cause shine, i.e. bismuth and boron, also caused shine with this mineral makeup product thus needing to calm it down by purchasing yet another Loreal product, the mineral veil finishing powder.
The coverage of this mineral foundation went on sheer, so we reapplied 2 times for better coverage, though 1/4 of the container was gone at this point to get enough product coverage. The foundation lasted for a few hours then was very sheer, and all testers found themselves reapplying throughout the day, with both foundation and setting powder.
The cost effectiveness per container size was equivilent to other mineral makeup store brands, around a month supply or less depending on coverage desired.
In all our Loreal mineral makeup review of Bare Naturale Foundation makeup was mixed. Some liked the sheer coverage and shine it gave to their aging skin, while others did not.
The mineral makeup ingredients were also a concern for anyone worried about foundation makeup settling into fine lines and wrinkes, which this product did.
Acne sufferers should think twice due to the bismuth and boron.
Mineral Makeup Reviews - Revlon Mineral Makeup
Mineral makeup review on Revlon mineral powder makeup.
We know that as a makeup Revlon Cosmetics is one of the forerunners and is well known for it's foundation Colorstay products. The wearability of Colorstay liquid foundation makeup is by far one of the best on the market, though contains almost pure chemicals, those of which give the Colorstay liquid foundation a matte texture much like latex paint.
What we wanted to find out in our mineral makeup review of Colorstay Minerals was if it was as wearable as other Revlon Colorstay products. What we discovered was that the mineral foundation by Revlon did hold it's color and consistancy throughout the day without smudging or settling into our fine facial lines and wrinkles. It's also matte if applied properly.
The only consideration we would ask consumers to give the Colorstay Mineral Foundation loose powder makeup would be the ingredients and their value.
We have found this mineral makeup foundation to be superior in coverage, and wearability and offer the maker Revlon applause for a job done great.

Minerals Makeup I really appreciated the start of your information on micron and the word micronized minerals at it applies to mineral makeup.
I too have seen more information on mineral makeup company sites and that MMA forum that I stopped going to last year due to their nasty subscribers and moderators and am hoping to find a good mineral makeup resource that has information I can work with and post on our medical medi spa site soon to be up and running.
Thanks for the research your doing as I too am one of those that is a fact person.
